Set how much each of our seven criteria matters to you, from 0 to 10, and how many seats you need. The table re-ranks the nine SOP tools from our published criterion scores and shows a monthly cost only where the vendor publishes a per-seat or per-plan price. Five of the nine publish a price you can model; the other four ask you to contact sales.
The sliders start at our own weights. Moving them changes only how much each criterion counts, never a tool's score on it. Costs use the vendor's published price and billing rules, including seat minimums, and each figure shows the exact wording it comes from.
What matters to your team?
How quickly can a subject expert turn a task into a first draft: screen capture, step recorder, AI drafting, templates?
Does the tool keep prior versions, show what changed, and route a draft to a named approver before it goes live? How long is history kept on each plan?
Can you prove who changed or approved what and when? Published security attestations (SOC 2, HIPAA) and regulated-records support (FDA 21 CFR Part 11 e-signatures).
Can you assign an SOP, quiz people on it, collect a read confirmation or e-signature, and report completion?
Can staff find the current version at the moment of need: knowledge search, AI answers, in-app help, browser extension?
Documented integrations (knowledge bases, HRIS, Slack, Zapier, API) and export formats (PDF, Word, SCORM, embed).
Is there a published price a buyer can model before talking to sales, including the plan that has the governance features?
Vendors count seats differently: Haiku and Tango count users, Scribe counts seats, SweetProcess counts members and Whale counts creators. Check who needs a paid seat on the plan you choose.

How the calculator works
Your score = sum of (criterion score x your weight) / sum of your weights. Monthly cost = the vendor's published price for the plan and billing you chose, applied to your seat count, including any seat minimum or included seats. Value = your score / monthly cost x 100.
With the default weights your score equals our published total for every tool.
Scores are editorial assessments from public vendor material, evaluated September 2026. Prices are as published on vendor pricing pages on 27 September 2026 and exclude taxes, add-ons and custom Enterprise plans.

Frequently asked questions
Why do the sliders start at 10, 7.5 and 5?
They are our published weights halved: capture 20%, then 15% for version control, audit trail, training and pricing, and 10% for search and integrations. The ratios are unchanged, so the default table matches our main ranking.
Why do some tools show no cost?
Trainual, Process Street, Qualio and Dozuki do not publish prices; they ask buyers to book a demo or contact sales. We do not estimate a price for them.
Why does the cost not change below five seats for some tools?
Haiku's Team plan and Scribe's Pro Team plan both publish a 5-seat minimum, so one to five seats cost the same. SweetProcess includes up to 10 members in its base price and Whale includes 3 creators on Scale and 5 on Advance.
Does the calculator change any tool's criterion scores?
No. It changes only the weights and the cost inputs. Each criterion score and its reason come from the reviews and the evaluation method.
