SOP Software in 2026 So Far: A Recap of Announcements From January to September

Process Street moved first. On 27 January 2026 it launched a Model Context Protocol server that exposes most of its API endpoints as tools for data sets, users, workflows, runs and tasks, on all plans. On 21 May it added 105 API and MCP endpoints across workflows, pages, data sets, runs, folders, permissions and webhooks. Trainual followed on 14 July with an API, webhooks and an MCP server on its Premium and Enterprise plans. Scribe's 20 September post on passing $100M in annual recurring revenue names MCP as one of its three core capabilities, next to Scribe Capture and Scribe Optimize. Trainual was the most active vendor here. Its 14 July release added connectors for Google Drive, OneDrive, SharePoint, Notion, Confluence and Dropbox. On 10 September it added five HR and payroll integrations, isolved, HiBob, Humaans, Sequoia One and UKG Ready, plus multi-entity syncing for teams with several locations in their HR system. In manufacturing, Dozuki announced on 16 March that its skills and knowledge platform is embedded in Innovapptive's Industrial Execution System, pairing work orchestration with step-by-step guidance for frontline workers.

Process Street added two features aimed at control, both on all plans. On 25 February an Update Runs to Latest option began moving active workflow runs to the most recent version of the workflow. On 17 March Access Explorer began showing each user's access to folders, workflows, forms, pages, data sets and saved views in one tree, including whether the access is direct or inherited. Trainual introduced an Operations suite on 19 May, with Meetings, Goals and Scorecards, Team Updates and AI Insights, next to its Training suite for onboarding, SOPs and documentation. Tango launched Workflow Translations on 11 September: AI translation into 11 languages that covers titles, steps and callouts and keeps the screenshots, available on Enterprise workspaces once an admin turns it on.

Three FDA items matter for teams that keep regulated SOPs in software. The Quality Management System Regulation took effect on 2 February 2026, replacing most of 21 CFR Part 820 with ISO 13485:2016, incorporated by reference. On 3 February FDA finalized its Computer Software Assurance guidance for production and quality system software; according to Qualio's summary, it defines cloud services and brings AI and machine learning tools into scope when they are used for production or quality purposes. On 10 August a revised Compliance Program 7346.832 for pre-approval inspections took effect, formalizing a risk-based decision on whether an inspection is needed. In the UK, the MHRA published draft Medical Devices (Amendment) Regulations 2026 on 8 May, with adoption anticipated in December 2026 and entry into force expected in June 2027, subject to Parliament. Two vendors published company milestones. Tango states it ranked No. 246 on the 2026 Inc. 5000, with 1,387% three-year revenue growth from 2022 to 2025. Scribe states it has crossed $100M in annual recurring revenue. We have not verified either figure. On 13 May, Haiku's Head of Product, Alex Kim, published a guide to capture-first documentation. It notes that a captured workflow still needs about 5 to 10 minutes of human review, and that the method fits decision-tree and compliance-heavy procedures less well.
